Floris Pierik

In his 16 years in practice, Floris Pierik has advised on M&A transactions with an aggregate value in excess of €90 billion. His practice focuses on complex domestic and cross-border public and private M&A and private equity transactions. Some of his major deals include cross-border transactions with a significant U.S. connection.

Floris frequently counsels clients on compliance, governance, and fiduciary matters. He represents both public and private companies in a variety of industries, including retail and consumer products, manufacturing, life sciences, technology, and telecommunications. He also frequently advises private equity firms in their investments. Floris built up considerable skills advising on contentious transactions and shareholder disputes.

Key transactions at Jones Day include advising NASDAQ-listed BioMarin Pharmaceutical on the successful €680 million public takeover offer for Dutch biotech company Prosensa Holding NV and the subsequent minority squeeze out asset sale; Gimv, Draper Esprit, and Robert Bosch Ventures on the sale of Greenpeak Technologies to NASDAQ-listed Qorvo Inc.; Randstad on the successful public takeover offer for Monster; NYSE-listed Scotts Miracle Gro on the acquisition of horticultural lighting solutions producer Gavita Netherlands; Avedon Capital Partners on the sale of Deli Home & Garden to NPM Capital Partners; and NYSE-listed RPM International Inc. on the acquisition of Dutch paint producer SPS Group.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Floris was a counsel at a leading international law firm, where he worked on numerous high-profile public and private M&A and private equity transactions.
