Niels van Loon
Niels van Loon’s practice focuses on corporate and commercial litigation, tort litigation, directors’ liability claims, and commercial arbitration. He advises and represents international and domestic clients in minority squeeze out proceedings and enquiry proceedings before the Enterprise Division of the Amsterdam Court of Appeals. Niels also acts as counsel in international commercial arbitration under the rules of several arbitral institutions, including the Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI), the ICC International Court of Arbitration, and the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2014, Niels practiced at a corporate litigation and financial restructuring boutique firm and for more than 10 years at an international law firm in their Amsterdam and Dubai offices.
Niels is a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and a member of the Dutch Arbitration Association (DAA), the Corporate Litigation Association (Vereniging Corporate Litigation), the International Bar Association (IBA), and the Solicitors’ Association of Higher Courts Advocates (SAHCA).
